Getting Around

Public transport is the recommended way to access White Night Ballarat. But if you plan to drive, be aware that there will be road closures in place, and car parking will be limited – drivers are encouraged to take advantage of the Park & Ride services on offer.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

PTV is helping customers get to and from White Night – so you won’t miss a thing! If you are looking for specific public transport information for the night, visit here.

PTV SERVICES AVAILABLE

V/LINE COACH

Additional coaches will run to Melbourne from midnight until 3am. Coaches will depart Ballarat Station from Lydiard Street North stopping all stations to Melbourne every 45 mins.

V/LINE TRAIN

Additional trains will run from Ballarat to Melbourne at 10.14pm and 11.40pm. All other trains will run to the normal Saturday timetable.

BUS

Ballarat buses will run to their normal timetable until 8pm. From 8pm–3am, five White Night bus routes will run to the bus hubs at Armstrong Street South, Curtis Street (drop-off only) and Little Bridge Street (pick-up only). No pick up/drop off from Ballarat Station.

PARK & RIDE

There will be two Park & Rides in Ballarat where you can park your car and catch an express bus to the Armstrong St Bus Hub:

  • Federation University Mount Helen Campus
  • Stockland Shopping Centre Wendouree

ROAD CLOSURES & PARKING

Road closures will be in place to ensure safe and easy pedestrian movement. Parking may be affected. View the Road Closures Map and Table for more information.

Due to road closures, temporary taxi stands have been established on Mair Street (between Camp Street and Grenville Street) and Ararat Street (between Armstrong Street and Lydiard Street). The existing taxi rank on Doveton Street near the corner of Sturt Street will also be operating on the night.

ACCESSIBLE PARKING

Accessible parking will be available off Doveton Street just south of Sturt Street. Cars displaying a Disabled Persons Parking Permit can enter from Doveton Street. Please note parking is limited and may fill early.
