Airing My Laundry

Featuring a clothesline laden with vintage linen and lingerie, Airing My Laundry takes the everyday task of hanging out the washing and turns it into an installation that speaks to the heart of what it is to yearn each day.

Each piece of laundry has been hand-stitched with words and images of the ordinariness of country life and the desires that arise from dreaming through the mundane. Passers-by are welcome to come in closer and walk amid the clothing, to read the diaristic text fragments and touch the applique imagery that speaks to the lusts and longing of what it means to be human.
