Nicholas Tory and Ample Projects
Inspired by the artwork of Ballarat’s Indigenous Auntie and Elder Marlene Gilson and her daughter Deanne, Ample Projects have created a giant LED animation of Bunjil the eagle.
Exploring permanence and the ephemeral, this sequence of 48 sculptures (presented as eight illuminations per second) creates Bunjil the eagle flying a constant path through time and space. Appearing for a moment, this creature was here before us. This protected species – a myth, a memory, a product of millions of years of evolution.
