Dhelk Djuwima (sharing respect)

DJAARA (Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation) will share a Dja Dja Wurrung Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony to instil protocols of the past.

Dja Dja Wurrung People have lived on and cared for Djandak (Country) for thousands of years. Djandak is more than just a landscape, it’s more than what’s visible to the eye – this land is a living entity that holds the stories of creation and histories that can’t be erased.

As part of the ceremony, DJAARA will pass a message stick onto a Waduwurrung Traditional Owner to signal the arrival of White Night in Geelong.
