Through bloodlines and kinship, the people belonging to central Victoria are Djaara, Dja Dja Wurrung People. The Dja Dja Wurrung People are the Traditional Owners of this land, who have lived here and cared for Djandak (Country) for many thousands of years.
DJAARA share the Faces of Djaara as a celebration of Dja Dja Wurrung determination, resilience, and presence. Dja Dja Wurrung customs and practices are present when Djaara paint up to participate in ceremonies or important events. These cultural practices continue to keep Djaara connected to the past, present and future.
