Into the Night

Christopher Langton

Into the Night depicts the story of three characters who embody the spirit of fun, play and hedonism. It doesn’t matter if these individuals are friends, acquaintances, or complete strangers; what connects them is their common objective: the prevailing desire to have a good time. The anime-inspired females are dressed to kill. Their male counterpart’s physique is pumped, testosterone-charged and ready for action. Wherever their pleasure-seeking radars take them, this group will be maximising their chances of finding the thrill of adventure.

By using these three figures, the installation holds a mirror up to the audience also on the quest for excitement. It challenges them with a question: ‘Are you having a good time?’ The answer may always return as a resounding ‘Yes’, but a closer look may reveal a night simmering with conflict and tension.
