Coastlines across the world are protected by tetrapods – colossal, three-pronged blocks of concrete placed to halt soil erosion.
In Waves, you can watch these tetrapods move against each other, inflating and deflating, behaving like the waves that break upon coastlines. Each tetrapod is made from recycled and re-used fabrics.
Based on observations of huge tetrapods on the coast of South Korea, this series reinforces the importance of protecting coastlines from environmental degradation.
