Common People – Louise Devery

Courthouse Youth Arts

‘Common People’ is a collection of art using paint, copper leaf, Posca pen and fine liner, to explore the human form beyond the naked eye.

Louise Devery is a 23-year-old Geelong based graphic designer and artist who completed her studiesin 2017. Through her graphic design course at the Gordon, she was taught the technique of blind drawing by her teacher and mentor, Jiri Tibor Novak. This was meant as a simple drawing exercise to get creativity flowing for other briefs, but something about it stuck and Lou continued to practise the technique.
